Description
Lovely vintage Marmoucha carpet densely knotted with a field in natural undyed ivory and darker pile in profound black and charcoal. The composition displays a central network of female lozenges constructed with intricate smaller motifs flanked by patterned borders. The carpet is very nicely finished with a large flatweave band on both ends and plaited tassels. Low pile and 100% soft wool. The carpet is in a very good condition. The Marmoucha tribe is a region neighboring the Beni Ouarain tribe which explains the similarities of these carpets.
