A vintage Beni Ouarain carpet and a fine example of the domestic weavings of this tribe! The weaver has knotted a personal message in Arabic translating into Allah and the names Mohamed, Ali and Bertal. This generously sized piece is incredibly densely hand-knotted with a field in shades of warm ivory and cream. The composition displays a classic network of double lined female lozenges holding intricate smaller diamond motifs. The darker pile is slightly shorter creating a subtle diffused appearance. The carpet is fully bordered with thick double sided dark pile. Both ends of the carpet show a flatweave band and braided tassels. Medium pile and 100% premium wool. Feels luxuriously soft under foot! The carpet is in very good condition.
