Fantastic vintage Beni Mtir carpet exhibiting an asymmetrical composition that begins with one large and several broken lozenges. The weaver continues her message with irregular horizontal chevrons comprised of small connected diamond motifs accompanied by floating strings of tiny lozenges and other Berber symbols. With an abrashed field knotted in magenta, coral and violet, patterned with orange, ivory and time faded pistachio. With selvedges in contrasting charcoal and very nicely finished with a flatweave band on both ends and long plaited tassels.
