Description
Vintage Marmoucha carpet patterned with a network of double lined female lozenges holding intricate smaller motifs flanked with vertical zigzag lines and patterned borders. Densely knotted with a field in natural undyed ivory and darker pile in black and charcoal. The carpet is very nicely finished with a large flatweave band on both ends and plaited tassels. Low to medium pile, 100% soft wool. The carpet is in a very good condition. The Marmoucha tribe is a region neighboring the Beni Ouarain tribe which explains the similarities of these carpets.
