Vintage Azilal Rug / 370 x 160 cm

Rug Code: AZ234

This vintage Azilal rug carries the quiet elegance of Morocco’s High Atlas weaving tradition. Handwoven by an Amazigh women, it reflects a heritage where rugs were first created for domestic life, embodying protection, fertility, and tribal identity.

The composition is defined by a continuous diamond trellis, each lozenge softly enlivened with dotted details. Woven in natural wool, the contrast between the warm ivory field and the deep black-brown lattice creates a design both graphic and timeless. Minimal in colour yet rich in meaning, this rug is a study in restraint and rhythm, a piece where every knot holds symbolic resonance.

Its generous proportions and tactile pile make it not only a heritage textile but also a striking statement for contemporary interiors, bridging past and present with subtle poetry.
