Vintage Zayane Rug / 278 x 188 cm

An intricately patterned vintage Zayane rug, knotted with a rich field in deep magenta that subtly shifts into a crimson brown tone toward the end, like a story gradually unfolding to its final chapter.

At first glance, the composition reveals a seemingly symmetrical network of lozenges. But a closer look uncovers subtle irregularities and symbolic forms embedded within the motifs. It’s a beautiful reminder of the Berber weaving tradition, where familiar patterns are personalized into a unique narrative by the weaver’s hand.

Framed with contrasting dark selvedges and finished with grouped fringes, this piece is all wool, with a low to medium pile and a distinctly tribal yet elegant presence.
