Vintage Zayane Rug / 355 x 196 cm

A captivating vintage rug from the Zayane region, distinguished by its complex geometric composition, an expressive language typical of this weaving tradition. The dominant motif features large lozenges enclosing smaller symbols, including cross patterns and miniature diamonds, each element layered with intention and cultural resonance.

The central field glows in warm ember orange, beautifully contrasted by deep indigo and ivory patterns. Borders are densely filled with zigzags, guard bands, and lozenges, framing the story with bold structure and rhythm. The result is a composition that feels both grounded and radiant, with a strong interplay between light and shadow.

Crafted in all wool with a low pile and finished with contrasting brown selvedges. A piece that speaks of heritage through a confident, graphic presence.
