Vintage Boujad Rug / 310 x 150 cm

A vibrant and culturally rich vintage Boujad, deeply rooted in Amazigh storytelling and artistic freedom. This piece is a powerful expression of Berber creativity, where each shape and color holds personal and symbolic meaning. The field glows in saturated vermilion red, animated by accents in lavender, sky blue, indigo, peach, and yellow, with charcoal and ivory outlines offering bold contrast. Orange highlights punctuate the composition, adding bursts of energy.

At the heart of the rug are large, multi-layered lozenges, classic Amazigh motifs, interspersed with starburst and cross-like symbols. The layout is entirely asymmetrical, flowing with instinct and intuition, a hallmark of Boujad weaving. This expressive composition resists rigid order, embracing spontaneity and visual storytelling.

Knotted in all wool with a low to medium pile, and finished with simple grouped fringes, this rug is both a statement piece and a celebration of cultural heritage.
