Vintage Boujad Rug / 233 x 142 cm

A striking vintage Boujad rug featuring a rare grid-style layout, giving it an unusually modern and orderly aesthetic. Each square within the grid contains a distinct motif, ranging from diamonds to ladder and comb-like figures, interspersed with playful checkered and pixel-inspired shapes that showcase the weaver’s creativity and flair.

The composition maintains a balance between structure and expression, offering a fresh take on traditional Berber storytelling. The field is dominated by deep reddish and terracotta hues, with motifs in lavender, pastel pink, light blue, and mint green. Charcoal and ivory details offer contrast and definition, while the soft pastel accents hint at subtle urban influences woven into the design.

Densely knotted in soft wool with a low to medium pile, this piece is finished with flatweave bands and short braided tassels. A compact and spirited rug that blends tribal heritage with contemporary charm.
