Description
This Vintage Azilal Carpet is a lovely example of the boundless artistic expressions of the Berber weavers. With a background showing densely hand-knotted ivory wool adorned with an intentional irregular network of smaller scaled lozenge motifs. A palette of natural brown wool with orange and ice blue is used consistently but alternated in the motifs. This creates a subtle shift of color in three phases as if it were a triptych composition. With contrasting indigo blue selvedges. The carpet is in a very good condition.
