Description
A superb vintage Beni Ouarain carpet with a more unusual large width. Very densely knotted with a field in natural warm ivory and patterns in black and charcoal. An interesting interpretation of a female lozenge network is created with double lines of small connected diamond motifs. Most of the large lozenges hold smaller versions with slightly distorted shapes creating movement in the composition. Edged with patterned side borders adding to the tribal character of this marvelous piece. Embellished with thick double sided borders in contrasting charcoal. Medium to slightly lofty pile and 100% soft wool quality. The carpet is well preserved and in a very good condition.
