A superb vintage Beni Ouarain carpet exhibiting old school weaving and soft wool quality. Very densely hand-knotted with a background in natural warm ivory. The composition shows a slightly irregular network of double lined female lozenges holding intricate smaller diamond motifs in charcoal, silver grey and a few pops of faded carmine red. The borders exhibit partial male ladder patterns adding to the tribal character of this carpet. Very beautifully fnished with a flatweave band on both ends and braided tassels with subtle marks of henna dye. The weaver has signed her creation with the name Aïsha knotted in Arabic. Medium pile and 100% wool. Feels dense and soft under foot. The carpet is in a very good condition.
