Vintage Beni Mtir Rug / 318 x 183 cm

This vintage Beni Mtir rug unfolds like a coded tale, steeped in symbolic meaning and tribal tradition. Its field reveals subtle transitions between earthy burnt reds, warm oranges, and fleeting notes of magenta, creating a softly radiant backdrop.

A central lozenge motif takes prominence, knotted as a rhythmic chain of balanced nodes, perhaps a protective symbol. Surrounding this are flowing chevrons, scattered symbols, and a cluster of eight-pointed stars, adding richness to the story. The border carries another interconnected motif, framed by charcoal-toned edges that anchor the design.

Knotted in shades of charcoal, ivory, and hints of deep purple, the composition is dense and harmonious. Crafted from soft wool with a medium double-knotted pile, this rug balances decorative elegance with meaningful storytelling. Finished with a flatweave band and dark braided tassels.
